Breaking News: Fatal fire at local campground

The OPP are investigating an incident where a body was found in the remains of a burned out trailer following an explosion and fire at the Riverside-Cedar campsite, about 10 minutes east of Morrisburg on County Road 2.

The identity of the deceased is not being release pending notification of next of kin.

Getting ready for summer

Summer’s here and hopefully it’ll be a long one. The Morrisburg and Seaway area is a great area to enjoy in the summer with it’s various swimming spots, camping and tourist attarctions.

Do you have a favourite activity in the Summer? Do you know of any good bike trails or swimming spots or fishing holes you would like to share? if so, please post them in the comments area.

Train derailment near Morrisburg March 2, 2010

As you may know by now, a freight train derailed near Morrisburg yesterday. Luckily, no one was injured.

Trains going from Montreal to Toronto will experience delays again this morning, but VIA expects the area to be cleared sometime around noon today.

Passengers travelling between Montreal and Toronto may request a full refund or a change to their reservation without penalty by contacting VIA

Ex-NHLers coming to Morrisburg

Well, I’m finally getting around to updating this blog and what better way to break the ice than to blog about hockey?

Anyway, on Friday night (Feb. 19) at 7pm at the arena the like of Doug Jarvis and Dan Doust, among others, will be taking on a team of local all stars with the goal of raising money for the Special Olympics
